I went to see Avenue Q yesterday with a couple of friends. Having never heard of it before a few days ago when my friends offered me their extra ticket, I wasn't sure what to expect. I couldn't remember what it was called so I couldn't Google any information about it, and I was only given a brief description of it being "a messed up Sesame Street". It sounded like something I would enjoy, but after seeing it for myself I can't explain how much I enjoyed it.

It was a strange experience, though, to see people holding puppets and speaking for them, even providing the legs and movements for them at some points of the show. When I think of puppets I think of either ventriloquism or not being able to see the puppeteer at all. For the first few minutes I had trouble ignoring the people controlling the puppets but after a little bit, it was easy to forget they were there.

I loved it everything about Avenue Q start to finish, and at some parts I laughed hard enough that it brought tears to my eyes. All the songs were so good (especially Sucks To Be Me, that was probably my favorite!) that I wanted to buy the album but Brook insisted she would just burn me a copy of hers. That's great because I really couldn't afford it especially after we had dinner at Joe's Crab Shack. After I left a tip my meal alone ended up being $23. It's not bad though because for that price there was enough leftovers to bring home for Mark for dinner.

I guess that's it for now. I want to leave everyone reading this with a little clip form Avenue Q, it's my favorite song called "Sucks To Be Me". (I wanted a t-shirt at the gift shop that said this quote, but I know a lot of my friends wouldn't get the reference.)
