After Mark picked me up from a meeting I attended this morning we made a decision on a whim to go to the animal shelter. We didn't have any intentions of going today but we have been somewhat regular visitors this past month, meeting the dogs and cats and the friendly people who work and volunteer there. We knew once we got settled into our house we would want to bring another pet into our family.
I'm glad that we stopped by, because once we arrived we fell in love with an 8 month old puppy named Diamond who is a Labrador mix. She's so friendly and happy, she really seems to like us. We decided to foster her out for a week to see if she is a dog we can live with, we also have to be sure that he can get along with our cat. It's a week with no obligations and at the end of the week we can either return her to the pound to find another home or we can fill out the adoption papers to be her permanent home.
Right now Diamond is in the living room taking a nap with my husband.
